Today in Mr. Schick's Western Civilization class, we took our test on the ancient civilization of Rome. I had missed the past 3 classes, so I was nervous that I'd get a poor grade on the test and not have the knowledge to complete it. After I had turned in my test, I felt good about the answers I chose even though I had not studied the night before. The only questions I had trouble with were the ones about the emperors and the Punic Wars. I am hoping that I get an A at least. After the test, I researched the appendix and made a powerpoint for Mr. Grzanna for extra credit. The reason I researched the appendix is because I had said in his class that the appendix probably still has some use and he told me to research it.

Today in Mr. Schick's Western Civilization class, we finished the power point on the Renaissance that he had prepared for us. We talked about the arts and went over which information was important and which were test questions. The first test question is that renaissance means rebirth. The Renaissance was a rebirth of art and literature and culture. The next was that Milan and Florence had wealthy merchants and bankers. The third was that the Medici were a powerful banking family and that they paid writers, artists, and musicians to create their beautiful works of arts. The super-patron Isabella d'Este was a patron to: da Vinci, Bellini, Corraggio, Raphael, and Michelangelo. There were many more test questions but we also learned about the printing press and the Sistine Chapel that Michelangelo had painted in the Vatican.
