Today in Mr Schick's Western Civilization class we continued going over the power point that he had prepared for us. The power point he prepared for us is called "Luther and the Reformation." The power point picked up on Martin Luther's reformation and the 95 Theses. We reviewed the whole power point and got caught up. Martin Luther was born in Germany in 1483 and went to law school upon his father's wish. He was a very smart and logical man and had a 2 degrees and a PHD by the age of 30. He was excommunicated from the church after he went on trial and would not retract his statements about the church. He became an outlaw and a heretic and it had become illegal to house or food him and anyone may kill him without consequence.

Today in Mr. Schick's Western Civilization class, we looked at the power point on the Renaissance that Mr. Schick had prepared for us. We learned from the power point that the word renaissance means rebirth and that the cities of Italy were the center of action. Milan and Florence had wealthy merchants and bankers which led to artists in those cities to be inspired by the splendor of classical Greece and Rome. The Medici family was a very powerful banking family that were great patrons of the arts. The super-patron Isabella d'Este sponsored many of the greatest artists ever such as: da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Bellini, Correggio and many, many others.
